10 Most-Popular Cell Phones

Wirefly has created a list of its most popular cell phones currently on the market. Of the 10 most popular phones going into the holiday shopping season, the top 7 are camera phones .

“Camera phones enjoyed enormous uptake when they started being offered for free,” explained Brian Westrick, President of Wirefly.

The ever-popular Motorola RAZR camera phones for T-Mobile and Cingular are offered free after rebate and with service activation. They continue to be Wirefly’s hottest sellers. In addition to the RAZR, the #1 best-selling phones for each of the major carriers — Alltel Wireless, Cingular Wireless, Nextel, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless — all feature built-in cameras as well .

Currently, Wirefly’s most-popular cell phones are:

1. Motorola RAZR V3 (Camera Phone)
2. Motorola E815 (Video and Camera Phone)
3. Samsung PM-A740 (Camera Phone)
4. Motorola V330 (Video and Camera Phone)
5. Audiovox 8910 (Camera Phone)
6. Motorola V220 (Camera Phone)
7. Motorola i850 (Camera Phone)
8. Motorola i710
9. Motorola V188
10. Motorola V260

“It used to be that print-quality camera phones were very expensive. That limited their appeal,” added Westrick. “Heading into this holiday season, competition has heated up, and we’re now able to offer customers free camera-equipped cell phones upon activation with just about any plan, including Verizon Wireless, Cingular T-Mobile, Sprint/Nextel and others. That magic price was the key to camera phones taking off like they have.”

  1. This guide is very true; pretty much everyone now days has a camera phone. What is found very interesting is the fact that on that list, Motorola makes the bulk of the phones. In my opinion, Motorola has one of the best products out there. I just wish they would change one thing on there phones. I wish that they would change there charging ports. I don’t know how many times I have seen a problem on a charging port from Motorola. Every one of my friends that have had one has had problems. I wish they would adopt the charger like the LG and the Samsungs.

Also, Verizon wireless is also scheduled to get the razor by some time next year.
