3G Simple Cell-Phones for Grandma!
My grandmother is a little different than most as she is not afraid of technology and is actually quite good with her computer. She, like many her age, does not have a cell phone though. Too many gadgets on them that she does not need or want.
This is the A101K from Kyocera. It has voice-only capabilities, and includes a handy clip for holding numbers or grocery lists that have been jotted down on a scraps of paper. There is also a ring volume setting so people with hearing problems can crank it up, and hear that they are getting a call.
The A5517 from Toshiba is another phone made for older audiences. It is a little more advanced and feature filled. It included a 2.4-inch screen that features large text. It is also capable of e-mail and some web based applications.
