Buy a Rokr?

Arizona State University has a great report on the usefullness of the Motorola Rokr, and they don’t have a gleaming review of the new Apple/Motorola product.

“Oh, it also comes with a cute price tag of $250 if you sign your soul away to Cingular for two years.

Apple, Motorola and Cingular are obviously trying to market to the iPod-susceptible group with the Rokr. And I’m going to be honest, the concept of an iTunes-equipped cell phone is pretty exciting.

And it’s pretty ridiculous.

I have a third-generation iPod and a cell phone, much like everyone else at ASU.

A great majority of a Rokr purchase is for the iTunes capabilities — considering an adequate phone with every other feature can be found for under $100.”
