Electronic Arts To Buy Jamdat Mobile
Electronic Arts is looking to expand its gaming reach, and to do so it is aquiring Jamdat Mobile, currently the top publisher of wireless video games.
The publisher of many popular games including Tetris, Downtown Texas Hold ‘Em, and Bejeweled, Jamdat Mobile will be taken over by EA shortly after the fiscal fourth quarter, ending March 2006. The aquisition will cost Electronic Arts $27 USD a share, or $680 million dollars total. The deal is pretty nice considering it is 18% over Jamdat’s Thursday closing price of $22.77 USD a share.
