Sprint Nextel Files VoIP Patent Infringement Lawsuit

It looks like Sprint is taking a legal stab at Vonage due to VoIP patent infringement. I don’t know how much of a case they have, but this could have wide reaching effects depending on the outcome.

Sprint Nextel has announced that one of its subsidiaries has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Vonage Holdings Corp., Voiceglo Holdings Inc., and theglobe.com Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas. Sprint Nextel claims these companies have infringed upon seven patients held by the carrier relating to Voice Over IP (VoIP) technology.
