I have had a good number of Nokia phones, but the 6280 which I have now had for about a year is without doubt the worst phone I have ever had. It continually changes it's settings, it continually advises others that it is switched off or out of range when it is on. Optus supplied me with a new battery free of charge but neither battery seems to last very long, maybe a full day at the most. Sometimes the phone locks solid and "test" appears on the screen. The battery has to be removed and re-installed in order to reset the phone. I emailed to the Nokia help site and I have never recieved a response. Other design faults include the screen illumination switching off after only a few seconds of use. It appears to be unfixable. Beware of the 6280.

Have had 2 replacement phones of this model.. Both keep crashing, freezing, switching off, and now i cannot access the memory card, my contacts or the inbox of my messages without the phone dying on me. Also the battery lasts half a day if lucky with very little usage. Also to add Three's customer service is appaling to add to the faulty phone !

hassle-free? are you serious? the nokia 6280 is a very functional phone, but certainly not hassle free. It has MAJOR crash problems, and it is not just an isolated incident. It keeps happenings on mine, and not only in certain button/function combinations. Allthough it is almost certain if i use the # button to go to silent mode or back.
This does not just happen on mine but also on 4 of my friends phone of this type.

I can't believe Nokia released a phone with so major bugs. That is a major setback on my thoughts of the company. And what is worse is that they still havent released a fix, even though the phone has been out for several month.

I liked this phone, although you're right, the Nokia has a series of phones with little memory, and this is a dissappointing trait. I think if they all had a higher standard memory, it would come in more handy as a phone, because nowadays people are learning how to use bluetooth, sending and recieving files on the double. I did like the phone overall and it looks great, but again a thing I don't like about it is the fact that it is a Symbian 40 phone. This prevented me from playing bluetooth games and installing other symbian applications to the phone, as they were not recognised. I think if this phone was a Symbain 60 series, and had more memory, it would be the phone that would be flying off the shelves... non stop.
