Nokia launches the Nokia N70 camera phone

Nokia N70MobileGuerilla.com has the scoop on Nokia’s rolling out of the N70 camera phone.

Nokia started shipping the the Nokia N70 3G smartphone. This handset was announced in April, together with two other phones, the Nokia N90 and N91. The Nokia N70 features a 256.000 color (176 x 208 pixels) display, a 2 megapixel camera with flash and a VGA camera for video calling, Bluetooth, EDGE, Push to Talk, FM Radio.

“We are proud to announce the second device to hit the market from the Nokia Nseries high performance multimedia range,” said Joe Coles, Director of imaging product marketing at Nokia. “The Nokia N70 is a great example of Nokia Nseries, combining the latest technologies and elegant design with a comprehensive set of multimedia features. Easy and intuitive mobile photography, automatic storing of those great quality shots, listening to music, reading and writing email, browsing favorite websites - the Nokia N70 is a true multimedia computer.”

  1. I have the 6630, so I think I´ll pass this one. Quite the same as the 6630 and nearly identical to the 6680.

  2. Compared to Nokia 6680 this here Nokia N70 has:

    - better camera (N70 has 2Mpixels vs. 1.3 Mpixels in 6680 — almost twice better resolution);
    - better flash (N70 has anti-red-eye, no such function in 6680);
    - better Bluetooth connectivity (N70 has v2.0 vs. v.2 in 6680);
    - inhanced voice dialing (speaker independent);
    - FM radio (N70 has sophisticated FM radio, including VisualRadio vs. no radio in 6680);

    Conversely, 6680 is supplied with some additional software in the MMC card, it is not clear whether N70 has that software on its MMC (it is not mentioned on the Nokia web site).

    Apart from the above differences the two phones appear to be very simiral (they share the same OS and Java versions and apparently similar or same radio module).
