Panasonic P903iTV

Panasonic P903iTVPanasonic P903iTV catched my attention when I was browsing the internet. Having a large screen and supposedly a good display technology, it’s specially designed for customers who want to watch TV anywhere they are. It is made with a digital satellite TV tuner allowing the user to watch his favorite TV show even when on the go.

It uses Mobile PEAKS processor that generates depth and vivid colors on the 2.8 inch WQVGA TFT color screen. It has a swivel screen design with a color display of 262.144 colors. Take pictures on its 3.2 megapixel camera and don’t worry about memory space because of its 2GB external memory on its microSD memory slot.

Panasonic VS7 Review

Panasonic VS7It looks like the VS7 from Panasonic is a nice phone for the average person, but when compared to others in the same price range, it might not be one to pick up, as Mobile Burn reviewed it and had this to say:

Generally, I am quite pleased with the VS7. Being priced at the exact same level as the Sony Ericsson K750i, it will definitely cause some competition. The customizable faceplates, breath-taking screen, and the handset’s slimness will capture a lot of attention.

However, most of the VS7’s flaws are deal breakers. For example, sound quality over the earpiece is below average, there is no memory expansion, and the keypad is excessively small. There is no reason why Panasonic could not place a memory slot in the VS7, thickness is not an excuse because the technology is already there, as seen from their latest P902i announcement in Japan. The P902i manages to include an extra camera for video-conferencing, a W-CDMA chip and antenna, miniSD slot, and Felica electronic money antenna into the same thickness.

Panasonic VS2 Review

Panasonic VS2Slowly and surely as technology has advanced, cell phones have looked better on the inside and out, and that is especially true with the new 16 million color QVGA display that the VS2 from Panasonic sports. The phone comes as a sleek clamshell phone in three striking colors, Silver, Dark Brown and Pink. The tri-band (900/1800/1900Mhz) VS2 also sports a 1.3 megapixel camera and GPRS connectivity. Even better than having such a great LCD, and a decent camera and feature set as well as a nice design the VS2 is considered an entry-level cell phone, and thus will carry a lower price tag than certain other models.

From Mobile Burn:

Measuring 96mm x 46mm x 18.2mm (3.77” x 1.81” x 0.71”), the VS2 slips easily into my jeans pocket, and it will not weigh any pants or handbags down coming in at a mere 98g (3.45oz). On the front of the VS2, you will find the 1.3 megapixel camera perched at the top. The design is very similar to the X800, but this time the VS2 does without changeable covers. Unfortunately, Panasonic decided to keep costs down by omitting an external display. The indicator light flashes whenever a call comes in or an SMS is received, but this only happens for a few seconds.

One of the things that I think is a bit of a set back for this camera is that it does not support any external memory and only contains 32MB, which is more than enough for normal camera features such as address books and whatnot, but for taking images with the digital camera, or using the MP3 support that the VS2 includes, it is too small.

Overall the VS2 from Panasonic is considered a well rounded phone and one of the better phones from Panasonic, it has many features, and a great UI. The screen puts it over the top and makes this phone a highly recommended product.

Panasonic’s Symbian OS X800

Panasonic X800The Panasonic X800 is Panasonic’s second clamshell Symbian OS smartphone, the first being the X700. Clamshell addicts will definitely love the slim form factor of the X800 with its glossy white back, and changeable front covers. Those looking for a smartphone with a small size will not be disappointed with the X800. The triband GSM (900/1800/1900Mhz) X800 sports a VGA camera, Bluetooth, GPRS connectivity, and a variety of preinstalled applications.

Measuring 3.94″ x 1.89″ x .68″, the X800 is one of the slimmest clamshell mobile phones on the market. It isn’t as slim as the Motorola RAZR V3, but the X800 is a smartphone and so is trying to pack more features and gadgets in a small package.

On the front of the X800 you will find its VGA camera, which only shoots in 640×480. A little disappointing compared to the multiple megapixel cameras that most new cell phones have.

The X800 comes with 8mb of built-in memory and comes bundled with a 16mb miniSD card. 16mb is a little small as you will want a bigger card. Panasonic should have shipped the X800 with atleast a 32mb card. Battery life is said to be horrible. The phone only lasting about 3 days on standby with no use. With roughly 30 minutes of calls, SMSing, taking pictures, and GPRS usage, the X800 had to be recharged every day.

On the inside of the X800, you will be greeted by a bright 65K, 176 x 208 pixels LCD screen, which is usable even in direct sunlight. The keypad is almost completely flush with the surface of the X800. Although the keys are well-spaced apart, they are rather small and some people might have problems hitting the buttons they want.

The X800 comes preinstalled with a few applications. These include a To Do list, a calculator, converter, voice recorder, and clock. All are of good quality and function well. But the key, of course, is being able to install your own selection of applications. The Panaasonic X800 also came pre-installed with a full version of QuickOffice. This is great for users who need to view and edit their Microsoft Office documents on the go. Large files tend to take quite a long time to open.

The X800 is a good looking effort by Panasonic, but its UI leaves a lot to be desired.
